Abstract
Stunting is a matter of chronic malnutrition that caused by a lack of nutrition intake in a long time and has the effect of disruption brain development and children's intelligence, physical growth, metabolism in the body, so that it can reduce cognitive abilities and cause other infectious diseases. According to the results of Nutritional Status Monitoring 2017, 29.6% of Indonesian toddlers suffered from stunting. This study aimed to know correlation of giving supplementary feeding of breast milk (MP-ASI) with stunting. This study used cross-sectional study design. The sample of respondents were 101 sampels, used multivariate multiple logistic regression analysis. Stunting prevalence was 29.7% and the majority of children under five received MP-ASI less than 70,3%, while toddlers who received good MP-ASI were 29,7%. The majority of MP-ASI that has been compliant with the provisions is in terms of frequency (6-9 months), form, and portion (6-9 months). MP-ASI is associated with the incidence of stunting after being controlled by LBW variabels birth spacing. Toodlers stunting who were given less MP-ASI 3,307 (95% CI: 1,015-10,781) had greater risk for stunting than toddlers who were given good MP-ASI. Mothers should be more knowledgeable about the causes of stunting, especially in the giving of MP-ASI, according to the age of groups that have been recommended, one of them is increase consultation with health employees. Besides that, menu variations and attractive MP-ASI appearance need to be considered in order to develop and increase the appetite of a toddler.
