Abstract
The development of information and communication technology currently very rapid, one of that is online gaming. The intensity of playing excessive online games can pose risks to health, namely Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) complaints. This research aims to determine the factors associated with complaints of CVS to online games in the Emporium Supernova warnet of Palembang city in 2020. This research was descriptive analytic with cross sectional approach. The research location was Palembang Emporium Supernova warnet. The study population was all online game players in Emporium Supernova warnet, branches Sekip, Bukit, Celetang, and Kenten with 88 people. Sampling was selected by simple random sampling technique. The data analysis was univariate and bivariate. The Statistical tests was performed with the chi-square test for bivariate analysis. The results showed 87.5% of 88 online game players had symptoms of CVS. Variable length of computer use (p-value 0,000), monitor distance (p-value 0,006), and monitor height (p-value 0,000) had a relationship with symptoms of CVS. while the age (p-value 0,575), sex (p-value1,000), resting time (p-value 1,000), and lighting intensity variables (p-value 0,457) did not have relationship with the symptoms of CVS. An online game player uses a computer it is best to rest your eyes for a moment with enaugh, as well as adjust the distance and height of the monitor.
