Abstract

The purpose of carrying out Load shedding is so that the electrical power supplied from the generator to the load is maintained in a safe condition and the generation system can run normally so that it does not experience a total blackout. Therefore, Load shedding is done to correct the unstable frequency. This problem is the reason I made a final project with the topic PLC-Based Load shedding at PT. Medco E&P Rimau Asset. The method in this research is literature study, interview, data collection, data processing and analysis. In the calculation of condition 1 trip at the largest generator LU 01 and the smallest LU 02 the frequency was declared to be stable and steady state again at frequencies of 59.25 Hz and 59.92 Hz. Then in the calculation of Condition 2 trips at the largest generator LU 01 and smallest LU 02, Load shedding if a trip of generator LU 01 occurs only 2.5 seconds and in the smallest generator LU 02 the load is removed at a frequency of 57.01 Hz at 2.9 seconds . So it can be concluded PLC-Based Load shedding at PT. Medco Rimau Asset can almost be said to be good because from the calculations carried out there is no frequency below the nominal frequency (5% of the normal frequency of 60 Hz).
