Abstract

This research aims to determine the number of tools and machinery needed in East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency and the investment costs incurred to purchase agricultural equipment and machinery so as to increase rice production in East OKU Regency. This research was conducted in September 2019 to December 2019 in the East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency Agriculture Office, PPL (Agricultural Extension Worker), UPTD Agriculture Office and Gapoktan in each sub-district in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research uses descriptive method with presentation in the form of tabulation. The parameters used in this study are the development of the number of agricultural tools and machinery, the level of sufficient agricultural machinery and investment costs. The results showed the adequacy level of the RMU (Rice Milling Unit) was 194%, and the 2-wheel tractor was 82%. RMU (Rice Milling Unit) is included in the over category, the machine can be diverted to the District that is experiencing shortages, while for 2 wheel tractors in the sufficient category. The level of sufficiency included in the category of very less namely 4-wheel tractor, transplanter, combine harvester, power thresher, pump, dryer with a percentage of 5%, 1%, 14%, 58%, 47% and 4% or the amount needed to make up for the shortage The tools are 549 units, 7588 units, 856 units, 3096 units, 3601 units and 604 units.
