Abstract
This book contains some descriptive reading materials and reading tests that can help the teacher to improve the students’ knowledge about local culture. This book is appropriate for the eighth grade students. There are ten texts about Sekayu Local Culture and each text consists of a glossary. The Reading materials are designed in accordance with students’ English proficiency. These materials have been arranged through several stages, namely preparation, material collection, drafting, editing, validation and limited testing. Through the process, it is expected that the reading materials can be good and appropriate teaching materials for teachers and students.
