Abstract

This type of research is development research. The research aims to produce modules that are suitable or suitable for learning in material testing courses. The location of the study was conducted at the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program of Sriwijaya University in the 2018/2019 school year. The subjects in this study were sixth semester students who had taken metal material courses. This research consists of four stages, namely the stage of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Data collection techniques performed were expert validation, interviews and questionnaires. The results of this study are: (1) Based on the results of material validation and module media validation has been declared valid, and revised according to the advice of the validator expert. (2) From the second trial phase the average percentage of the questionnaire score is 65.18% so that the metal material course modules developed by the researcher are stated to be practical. (3) From the evaluation of the field trial stage the average percentage score of the questionnaire was 66.31%, so the module on metal material courses developed by the researcher was stated to be practical. From these results it can be said that the module developed has been valid and practical.
