Abstract

The research objective was to determine the correlation between self efficacy with academic dishonesty on class of 2017 Sociology Students in X University. The study hypothesis is self efficacy has a correlation with academic dishonesty on class of 2017 Sociology Students in X University. The study population was class of 2017 Sociology Students in X University. The study used purposive sampling technique and set 84 people as the number of the respondents. Self efficacy was measured used aspect from Bandura (1997). Academic dishonesty was measured used form of academic dishonesty by Lin & Wen (2006). Data analyzed using spearman rank method. The results of data analysis show that there is a correlation between self efficacy and academic dishonesty on test, academic dishonesty on task, plagiarism, dan academic dishonesty in other situation by value of P = 0,000 (p<0,05), r = -0,509, P = 0,000 (p<0,05), r = -0,500, P = 0,000 (p<0,05), r = -0,384, and P = 0,000 (p<0,05), r = -0,482. It proved that self efficacy has a negative correlation with every type of academic dishonesty.
