Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh (1) Loan To Deposit Ratio (LDR) terhadap Return On Asset (ROA) pada PT. Bank BTN (Persero) (2) Non-Performing Loan (NPL) terhadap Return On Asset (ROA) dan (3) Variabel independen yaitu Non-Performing Loan (NPL) dan Loan To Deposit Ratio (LDR) terhadap variabel dependen yaitu Return On Asset (ROA). Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder dan diolah dengan program SPSS Versi 11.5 serta analisis data statistik dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian selama periode 2002 - 2006 menunjukan bahwa Non- Performing Loan (NPL) dan Loan To Deposit Ratio (LDR) tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Return On Asset (ROA), sedangkan pengaruh Non- Performing Loan (NPL) ataupun Loan To Deposit Ratio (LDR) secara parsial juga tidak signifikan dalam mempengaruhi Return On Asset (ROA). Adanya variabel lain seperti biaya operasional, pajak dan biaya bunga berpotensi mempengaruhi nilai Return On Asset (ROA). Penulis menyarankan agar manajemen PT. Bank BTN (Persero) sebaiknya berusaha menaikan posisi Loan To Deposit Ratio (LDR) pada level diatas 88% dan menjaga posisi NPL tetap dibawah 5%.
