Abstract
In high voltage transmission lines, hanging insulators are one of the most important components in transmission. Hanging isolators are used on support poles to prevent the flow of current from the conductor to the phase. In this study, the insulator used in the simulation is a hanging insulator made of glass which is designed based on the insulator standards used by PLN. To see the changes in the distribution of the electric field in the insulator in normal and contaminated conditions, how is the effect of the voltage on the normal and contaminated insulator, and the flux of the dielectric material both in normal and contaminated conditions. The contaminants used include: carbon, nitrogen, metal particulates (2.5 micrometer), and wood, to make the difference clearer in this research, the variation of contaminant testing is simulated on the surface of the insulator type 1 and type 2.
