Abstract

It is known that the levels of TDS in produced water at PT. Pertamina Asset 2 Prabumulih amounting to 15,540 mg / L and is included in the salt water category. If this water is directly discharged into a water body, it will disturb the ecosystem in it. For this reason, this water is used as injection water but problems arise regarding corrosion and scale on the equipment. In addition, its injection capacity is also limited. Because the nature of produced water is brine, processing using the multi-stage flash (MSF) method can be applied. An MSF method distillation prototype has been designed to reduce TDS levels in produced water to below 4000 mg/L and 1000 mg/L. So that it can be used as injection water or domestic water and if it is discharged into a water body, it does not interfere with the ecosystem in it. The feed rates on the prototype tool was 5 mL / s, 10 mL / s and 15 mL / s with an experimental time of 30 minutes and 60 minutes. At feed rates of 5 mL / s, 10 mL / s and 15 mL / s, the TDS levels in the distillate were 251 mg / L, 255 mg / L and 257 mg / L with performance efficiency of the prototype tool of 68.75%, 51%. and 53.57%. The factors that influence the distillation process are the condition of the tool, the feed condition, the pressure, the temperature and the feed rate. The recommended feed rate used is 5 mL / s because the resulting TDS content is the lowest and the highest efficiency of tool performance.
