Abstract

The Effect of Health Education through Audiovisual Media on Knowledge about Effleurage Massage to Overcome Back Pain in Pregnant Women Back pain is one of the most common complaints experienced by pregnant women. Back pain can be managed pharmacologically through the provision of drugs and non-pharmacology through massage, yoga, relaxation of deep breaths, and so on. Effleurage massage is an effort that can be given to treat back pain in pregnant women. So, effleurage massage can be used as educational information for pregnant women to deal with complaints of back pain that are felt. One of the media that can be used to support education is audiovisual. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education with audiovisual media on the knowledge of pregnant women about effleurage massage to treat back pain. The design in this study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-postest design without using a control group. Respondents of this study were 17 samples given questionnaires before and after being given treatment. This research was conducted using the marginal homogenity because the data were normally distributed. The results showed that there was an effect of health education with audiovisual media on effleurage massage with a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05).
