Abstract
This study aims to improve the activities and learning outcomes of students in geometry material in class IV SD Negeri 135 Palembang using PowerPoint-based media. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 2 action cycles. Each cycle includes four stages namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. Data collection techniques used were tests and observations. The results showed that the use of PowerPoint-based media can improve learning outcomes in mathematics about many facets. This can be seen from the completeness of student learning in the first cycle with a percentage of 63.63% and in the second cycle the mastery learning of students increased with a percentage of 87.87%. From the observations, the activeness of students has increased, this can be seen in the first cycle with a percentage of 56.15% in the category of quite active and the second cycle increased to 88.82% in the very active category. The results of the study can be concluded that through the use of PowerPoint-based media can improve student learning outcomes on geometry material that is about the many aspects in class IV SD Negeri 135 Palembang.
