Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh strategi promosi Indomie terhadap keputusan pembelian pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Sriwijaya di Inderalaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga program promosi yang dilakukan Indomie {Advertising, Sales Promotion, dan Public Relation), ternyata hanya sales Promotion yang cukup besar mempengaruhi keputusan pembelian konsumen. Sebesar 14,4% variabel Sales Promotion dapat mempengaruhi keputusan pembelian konsumen dalam membeli Indomie, sedangkan sisanya 85,6% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang dalam penelitian ini dianggap tetap (cateris paribus). Untuk memperbaiki bauran promosi (promotional mix) pada Indomie, penulis menyarankan agar PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk seharusnya lebih memprioritaskan dan mengalokasikan dana perusahaan untuk lebih besar pada promosi penjualan {Sales Promotion) untuk produk Indomie yang sudah lama dikenal, misalnya saja dengan mengadakan undian berhadiah Indomie. Perusahaan juga seharusnya lebih gencar mengeluarkan iklan Indomie di televisi untuk produk Indomie yang baru
