Abstract

AGUSTIN JUDIS TANTIA, Antidiabetic Activity of Seagrass Extract (Halodule uninervis) (Supervised by ACE BAEHAKI and RINTO). This research aimed to know the antidiabetic activity of seagrass extract (Halodule uninervis). This research method used randomized block design method (RBD) with 3 treatments of root extract, stem extract, and leaf extract, using ethanol 70% maceration as a methods. All treatments were replicated 2 times. The parameters were total flavonoid and inhibition of α-glukosidase enzyme . In this research have showed that the total flavonoid were 0.36% (root), 0.38% (stem), and 0.42% (leaves), then the highest activity of α-glukosidase retardation were in the leaves (26.99%). The IC_50 values have ranged from 4565.5 ppm to 8417.2 ppm. Concluded that the inhibition activity of the α-glucosidase was lower than acarbose as a control.
