Abstract
Open wounds are wounds that are often experienced by everyone who is biased into chronic if ignored, where there can be a bacterial infection in the wound. This research conducted to look at open wound healing activities using ethanol extract of cempedak bark (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr) contains secondary metabolite compounds that can help speed up the wound healing process due to the presence of antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. The study was conducted in accordance with the objectives, namely knowing the phytochemical profile and characteristics, the effect of extracting the percentage of wound healing in mice and knowing a good dose of ethanol extract from the stem bark of cempedak against the length of wound healing in Sprague Dawley male rats. There were 5 controls which consist positive control(Tekasol ointment), negative control (no treatment), K1 (dose 150mg / kgBW), K2 (dose 300mg / kgBB) and K3 (dose 450mg / kgBB. The data is collected for 20 days. The data that has been collected will be processed and analyzed using of SPSS computer programs. Phytochemical screening results of ethanol extract of cempedak bark (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr) contains alkaloid , flavonoids, steroids, and phenolics. Characterization of ethanol extract of cempedak bark (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr) fulfill the requirements of Depkes RI (2008) except that the acid insoluble ash still exceeds the requirements indicating that there is still exposure to silicates, sand and metal elements. The results, ethanol extract of cempedak bark (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr) with a dose of 450mg/kgBB given effect to accelerate wound healing shown by wound healing in rats on 98% within 20 days. Then, there was a significant difference (p <0.05) between the negative control and the entire treatment controls (positive, K1, K2, and K3) on the 20 days, which indicated that there was a difference in wound healing activity towards the negative control and this was the case. also showed positive control and treatment with various doses can accelerate the healing of open wounds.
