Abstract

This research was conducted at Mainan Village of Sembawa Sub-district of Banyuasin Regency in February 2018. The purpose of this research is 1) Describe the processing and quality of processed rubber of farmers in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard which markets the rubber products through the auction system and conventional, 2) Describe the farmers' marketing channels and marketing functions that market rubber products through auction and conventional systems, 3) analyze the market structure of market behavior and market performance of rubber marketing, 4) Analyze the marketing efficiency of rubber on two different systems namely auction system and conventional system. The research method used in this research is survey method. Sampling method used is Proportionate stratified random sampling method. The result of research showed that rubber processing done in already fulfill the criteria of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) that is in terms of cleanliness, the use of freezer and rubber storage, marketing channels used in marketing the results of rubber processing there are two kinds of marketing channel auction system and marketing channels of conventional systems. Marketing Functions in the Mainan Village are running well. The market structure of rubber marketing in Mainan Village is an imperfect competition market leading to the oligopsony market. The most efficient rubber marketing institution is a rubber marketing agency through an auction system with an efficiency rating of 7,10 percent. For rubber marketing institutions through conventional system has a value of marketing efficiency is 9,80 percent. The most efficient rubber marketing channel is a rubber marketing channel through an auction system with little marketing cost of IDR. 703.08 per kilogram with a farmer's share of 100 percent. Rubber marketing channel through conventional system with marketing cost IDR. 772.54 percent per kilogram with a farmer's share of 80.82 percent. The marketing channel in Mainan Village is already efficient.
