Abstract

This research is entitled "Social Network of Vegetable Traders in the Market of Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency". The purpose of this research is to find out what is behind the vegetable traders to form a network with fellow traders, consumers, and market managers. As well as knowing the form of the network that has been established. This study uses the concept of differentiation of interests in organizations according to Agusyanto and network forms according to Damsar. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The number of informants in this study were 11 informants consisting of 7 main informants and 4 supporting informants. The results of the research on the social network of vegetable traders in the market of Pampangan sub-district, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, were formed because of several reasons: (1) The network of interests: in the form of exploiting resources, fulfilling merchandise needs, obtaining regular customers, and obtaining access to selling in the market. (2) Emotional network: because of the similarity of the profession, the relationship of blessings and friendship, and feelings of sympathy. (3) Relationship maintenance process: activities of inviting, leaving, coming home from work together, social gathering and cleaning together. The networks formed are Macro, Meso and Micro. (1) Macro Network: namely the relationship between vegetable traders and consumers based on their respective interests, (2) Meso Network: the relationship between vegetable traders and fellow vegetable traders as group members is cooperative regarding the availability of merchandise, (3) Micro Network: a network formed between groups of vegetable traders and market management institutions of interest.
