Abstract

Persoalan utama yang dikaji adalah pengaruh Kebijakan Operasi Pasar Terbuka Bank Indonesia dalam mengendalikan Laju Inflasi di Indonesia. Operasi Pasar Terbuka Bank Indonesia diukur dengan instrumen tingkat bunga Sertifikat Bank Indonesia. Pembahasan dilakukan dengan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan melihat hubungan dan pengaruh tingkat bunga Sertifikat Bank Indonesia terhadap inflasi. Selama periode pengamatan, laju inflasi hanya empat tahun berada di atas dua digit yaitu 1997, 1998, 2001 dan 2002, selebihnya inflasi hanya berada di bawah satu digit. Temuan menunjukkan :Pertama, terdapat pengaruh yang negatif antara tingkat bunga Sertifikat Bank Indonesia terhadap inflasi sebelum periode krisis moneter. Kedua, terdapat pengaruh yang positif antara antara tingkat bunga Sertifikat Bank Indonesia terhadap inflasi.
