Abstract
Rhinoceros beetle is the main pest that attacks oil palm plants in Indonesia, especially in oil palm rejuvenation area. O. rhinoceros bring tip of oil palm which can harm the growth and damage to plant vortex points. This research is to determine the solidity of spore B. thuringiensis by using different growth media, mortality of test larvae of O. rhinoceros. on a variety of different media, and know the value of LT50 on a variety of different media. This research used CRD (Completely Randomized Design) with 2 media, namely: 50 ml biourine media and 50 ml rice washing water, 2 isolates Bacillus thuringiensis. By repetition for 5 times with 50 ml bio urine media (BU) + 5 ml preculture, 50 ml rice washing water (ACB) + 5 ml pre culture, and 50 ml NB + 5 ml preculture. The highest solidity of spore was for 72 hours that was significantly different between treatments. The solidity of spores for rice water treatment with DLM isolates was the highest solidity spore, namely, 6.89 x 106 spores / mL. While the lowest solidity spore in rice water conditions with isolates KJ3P1, namely, 6.25 x 106 spores / mL. The initial symptoms of insects infected with the bacterium B. thuringiensis that begins with insect inactivity, decreased appetite, the color turns black and bad smell. Mortality observation lasted for 10 days, Mortality of treatment rice water with DLM isolates, rice water with KJ3P1 isolates, biourine with DLM, biourine with KJ3P1 isolates, and Dipel were the highest mortality for 89.36%. While the lowest treatment 63.04%. The mortality of rice water with DLM isolates, rice water with KJ3P1 isolates, biourine with DLM, biourine with KJ3P1 solates, and Dipel were the highest mortality at 89.36%. While the lowest treatmentwas63.04%
