Abstract

Tujuan utama dari studi ini adalah untuk menganalisa hubungan kausal antara kredit perbankan dan pertumbuhan ekonomi di kota Palembang selama periode 1994-2004. Data yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah data skunder. Dengan memakai model kausalitas Granger yang diformulasikan dalam suatu persamaan regresi sederhana,menunjukkan hasil bahwa terdapat hubungan kausalitas dua arah antara kredit perbankan dan pertumbuhan ekonomi dalam periode studi. Hal ini dapat dilihat melalui hasil dari kedua regresi yang koefisiennya tidak ada yang bernilai nol (bj^ 0 dan djit 0) dan F statistik dari kedua regresi lebih besar dari F tabel (15,049>6,39 dan 23,657>6,39).Walaupun terdapat hubungan kausalitas dua arah,kredit perbankan lebih berpengaruh daripada pertumbuhan ekonomi. Kredit perbankan tampaknya bisa menjadi kebijakan yang layak untuk pembangunan ekonomi dan harus ditingkatkan.
