Abstract

Background: Cognitive function consist of memory, attention, language, visuospatial ability, and executive function. The decrease of cognitive function still receives low attention because it is considered as a normal thing to happen. The purpose of this research is to determine factors that influence the cognitive function of financial division employees at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang. Method: This research is an observational analytic study with cross sectional and total sampling method. Population and sample of this research are 85 employees of financial division at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang. The data of this research were obtained from questionnaire, and analyzed using Chi-square test and logistic regression test. Results: The results showed (83,5%) respondents had normal cognitive function, (16,5%) mild cognitive impairment, and no severe cognitive impairment was found (0%). Age is significant with cognitive function (p=0,000; OR=17,222). Gender is not significant with cognitive function (p=0,131). Education level is not significant with cognitive function (p=0,145). Position is not significant with cognitive function (p=0,473). Physical activity is not significant with cognitive function (p=0,083). The history of disease significant with cognitive function (p=0,000; OR=56,667). Stress significant with cognitive function (p=0,001; OR=7,329). The most influential factor on cognitive function is the history of disease (p=0,000). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between age, the history of disease, and stress with the cognitive function of financial division employees at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, and the most influential risk factor is the history of disease.
