Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out the concentration ratio, pricing strategy, profit rate. and job opportunity of truck wagon industry in Palembang. The data has been used are secondary and primary data from eighteen firms of truck wagon companies. The primary data was collected by observing and interviewing the respondents, while secondary data was collected from many sources including Central Bureau of Statistics, Department of Industry and Commerce Palembang, and Department of Transportation Palembang. Based on the data its found that the market structure of truck wagon industry is oligopoly with differentiated product The result of this research shows that the truck wagon industry in Palembang uses cost-plus pricing strategies by charging mark-up to its average cost. This industry provides small number of job opportunity for people i n Palembang. The owner of the business yield economic profit from the business.
