Abstract

This research aims to know the species and its relationship of the fern plants (Pteridophyta) in Curup Lemutu Waterfall Muara Enim. The research was conducted in March until April 2017. This research use descriptive survey method using explore technique that the border of sampling 5 meters on the right (Northwest) and the left (North) of waterfall. The results of study found 13 species of fern plants, which are classified into 12 genus and 10 family. The specieses are Lygodium circinatum (Burm.F.) Sw., Lygodium longifolium (Willd) Sw., Gleichenia linearis (Burm.) Clarke., Cheilanthes tenuifolia (Burm.F.) Sw., Pteris vittata Linn., Davallia dimorpha Bl., Nephrolepis falcata (Cav.) C.Chr., Blechnum orientale Linn., Asplenium nidus Linn., Drynaria sparsisora (Desv.) T.Moore., Pyrrosia angustata (Sw.) Ching., Amphineoron terminans (Bl) Holtt. and Selaginella variegata (Hort.) Biol. The closest relationship are yaitu Lygodium circinatum (Burm. F.) Sw and Lygodium longifolium (Willd) Sw, while the farthest is Selaginella plana Hieron. The results of this study is expected to be a source of learning as information in studying the types of fern plants for the second semester in grade ten of the Basic Competence 3.8 Applying the classification principle to classify plants into the division based on morphological observation and metagenesis of plants and linking its role in the life continuity on earth and Basic Competence 4.8 Present data on morphology and the role of plants in various aspects of life in the form of a written report. Contribution given in the form of learning matters.
