Abstract

Berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang beradaptasi dengan gaya hidup manusia berperan penting terhadap kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, tidak seluruh penerapan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dapat kita amati dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, hal ini bisa diselesaikan dengan adanya fasilitas yang dapat menjadi suatu sarana edukatif dan rekreatif yaitu Pusat Peragaan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi (PP-IPTEK). Di kota Palembang, terdapat fasilitas sejenis yang sudah termakan umur, yaitu UPTD Graha Teknologi Sriwijaya. Konsep arsitektur high-tech mencerminkan karateristik teknologi dan sains karena dalam penerapannya konsep ini memanfaatkan pengembangan dari kecanggihan dan kemajuan teknologi serta menggunakan elemen-elemen berkonsep struktural yang didominasi oleh material pabrikasi pada elemen dan utilitas bangunan. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan suatu desain PP-IPTEK yang dapat mencerminkan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan arsitektur high tech dengan perpaduan langgam arsitektur futuristik. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah suatu desain bangunan PP-IPTEK arsitektur high-tech yang diaplikasikan ke struktur bangunan dan juga fasad bangunan seperti penggunaan struktur dan utilitas yang diekspos, penggunaan baja-baja tipis yang bersilangan, penggunaan material-material teknologi terbarukan, penggunaan Flat Bright Coloring, penggunaan glass flooring system, serta memadukan desain dengan langgam arsitektur futuristik.
