Abstract

Road traffic is the number nine cause of death and is responsible for 2.2% of all deaths globally, road safety audits are one way to anticipate traffic accidents. Accidents that generally occurredcause to various factors together, namely: humans, road conditions and completeness of the road. The purpose of this study was to conduct a Road Safety Audit in Management and Traffic Safety Aspects on the Trans Sumatra Highway on the Palembang-Indralaya Route KM 27-32. The study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach as well as the HIRARC interview and analysis method. There are 10 informants with two main informants and eight regular informants. The results showed that along the Palindra causeway KM 27-32 Road geometry is still not suitable for vehicles due to road conditions that have many holes until bumpy, completeness of traffic signs are sufficiently fulfilled because it has unfavorable conditions such as road markings in faded conditions or covered with paved asphalt patches resulting in invisible road markings, there are still a lot of street lights that do not yet exist, even though they exist but in non-living conditions, the width and shoulder of the road are still not possible to use other than not in accordance with the standards there are still many findings such as conditions that are is damaged or has a barrier. The road should be sterile without any obstructions around it, The risk assessment of the area that is the most vulnerable point in the area of KM 27 and KM 28 is seen based on the identification of hazards, accident events, and completeness of traffic signs. So it was concluded that the Palindra causeway was still not suitable to be used as a transportation infrastructure because there were still many elements of the road that had not yet been fulfilled.
