Abstract
Jambi is a capital city of Jambi Province, located in Sumatera Island where Batanghari river runs. Melayu Jambi Kingdom is the origin of Jambi province and city. This kingdom and its reign has gone through a long period of time until now. Nowadays, many people does not know about Melayu Jambi Kingdom because of the lack of information and there is no museum to specifically educate people about this kingdom. Furthermore, the lack of interest of people to visit museum will be solved by a more interesting designs and information displays. Melayu Jambi Museum will use regionalism architecture approach which makes this museum design interesting while not changing the trademark style of Jambi culture. Information displays will use the latest technology and story telling that is more organized to give visitors hands-on experience through interactive display rooms. This museum will also use steel structures and borepile foundations which is safe for riverside location. In addition, the Museum will also answer issues related to utilities such as water source as the location is on the riverside along with the collections safety as one of the main responsibilities of a museum.
