Abstract
Triterpenoid compound has been isolated from n-hexane extract of Tetracera indica stem. The isolation began with maceration, separation and purification by chromatography technique. The pure compound was identified by using UV spectrophotometer, FT-IR, NMR and DEPT. Based on the spectroscopic data analysis of the compound compared to the spectroscopic data that has been reported, it is suggested that the isolated the compound is triterpenoid group namely betulonic acid. This compound ever found in another genus, Belamcanda chinensis (L.) but it is the first time that reported from the stem extract of Tetracera indica.
