Abstract

Analysis Survival is a statistical tool used to observe the time records of an object until an event occurs. Methods that can be used for survival analysis include regression Cox Proportional Hazard and Bayesian Survival. The main objective of this study is to compare model using the Cox Proportional Hazard regression and the Bayesian Survival and to analyse what factors affect the survival of typhoid patients. The data used for the application of the method were 90 patients with typhus at the Makassar Haji Hospital in 2018. Based on the Kaplan-Meier test and the Log Rank test, there were differences in the odds of survival between groups on dirty tongues. The best model obtained is the Bayesian Survival method since the standard error value all variables are smaller than Cox Proportional Hazard. The standard Bayesian Survival errors for each variable are 0.0065, 0.1873, 0.2198, 0.2496, 0.1744, and 0.2461, respectively. While in the Cox Proportional Hazard regression standard errors are 0.0075, 0.2404, 0.2676, 0.2607, 0.2528, and 0.2272, respectively. The only significant factor in the Bayesian Surviaval model is heartburn with a coefficient of 0.3333 so that the recovery rate for typhoid patients when experiencing heartburn increases by 1.396. The significant factors in the Cox Proportional Hazard regression model are gender and heartburn with coefficient of -0.5411 and 0.6619 respectively so that if the patient with typhus is female, the recovery rate increases by 0.582 and if the patient experience heartburn, the recovery rate increases by 1,938.
