Abstract

Industrial-scale material transport equipment that is often used to move material from one place to another is a conveyor belt. PT Semen Baturaja (Persero), Tbk. has a one-way conveyor system in factory 1 consisting of 3 conveyor belt lines designed to transport limestone from crusher to stockpile. In an effort to reach the target in September 2019, it was 142,000 tons and in October 2019 there were 144,412 tons from the 180,000 tons production target each month. This shows that production in September 2019 was 78,8% and October 2019 80,22%. In order to achieve limestone production target, it is necessary to evaluate the performance of conveyor belt from crusher to stockpile theoretically and actual. The method used in data processing belt conveyor is by calculating the theoretical productivity and actual productuvity belt conveyor. The theoretical productivity of limestone delivery can be determined from the width of the conveyor belt, the idler type and the angle, as well as the surcharge angle, the conveyor belt slope, the pulley drive fingers, the speed of the gearbox and the limestone density. The actual productivity of the conveyor belt can be seen on the CCR monitor (Central Control Room) by looking at the amount of limestone tonnage delivered then divided by the effective working time. The result of belt conveyor performance evaluation got effective working time before evaluation is equal to 243,97 hour with production 150,409,95 ton/month, with presentation of achievement equal to 83,56%. While the effective work time after evaluation is 277.98 hours with the production of 171,377.45 tons/month or 95.21%. So the effective work time increase is 11.65%. The main obstacle faced in the achievement of production targets is due to technical and non technical constraints during limestone shipping process from limestone 1 crusher to stockpile of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero), Tbk.
