Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of the Traffic Police in building a cultural character of orderly traffic in schools to realize security, safety, order and smooth traffic in the city of Palembang. The research method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method, which is the social situation in this study is the Palembang City Traffic Police as the actor under study, efforts to build a cultural character of orderly traffic in schools are the activities studied, and Dirlantas Polda Sumsel and several schools SMP and SMA in Palembang are the places under study. The subjects in this study were three informants. This study uses five indicators in accordance with the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) of the South Sumatra Regional Police's Dikmas Lantas. The data was collected by using documentation, interview and observation techniques. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there are 5 efforts by the Palembang Traffic Police in building anorderly cultural character of traffic in schools to realize security, safety, order and smooth traffic in Palembang city based on Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) from Dikmas Lantas Polda Sumsel. , namely the first is the Child Friendly Police (POLSANAK), the School Security Patrol (PKS), Pollice goes to School, Safety Riding, and the fifth is Saka Bhayangkara.
