Abstract

Sekayu City, which is the capital of Musi Banyuasin Regency, has activities that are of great interest to the community, especially among the younger generation, including traditional dance, theater, music and martial arts martial arts. In Sekayu, Musi Banyuasin also needs new infrastructure to accommodate meetings, shows and exhibitions because the previous infrastructure that housed these activities had been converted. Realizing this, it is necessary to provide infrastructure that can accommodate community activities as a means of educational, recreational and gathering activities in the city of Sekayu, Musi Banyuasin. The Community Center is presented as an infrastructure to facilitate community and community activities that develop in the city of Sekayu, especially in the arts such as dance, music, martial arts, as well as the introduction of Gambo cloth as a typical Musi Banyuasin cloth. In planning and designing the Community Center in Sekayu, Musi Banyausin applies the Waterfront City concept, where this concept is a city development concept that is oriented towards the water's edge, be it the shore, river or lake. This can be applied because the city of Sekayu itself is an area along the river Musi. Therefore, the Community Center with the concept of the Waterfront City approach is considered appropriate because it can take advantage of the orientation of the Musi river as a place of recreation and education in the city of Sekayu.
