Abstract

Black rice is an important plants because of high anthocyanin content and Inpara 5 is a national rice variety adapted to sub-emerged condition. This research, therefore, was conducted to evaluate growth and production of F1 plants from their crosses, select superior plants, and produce seeds of their F2 generations. The research was conducted by planting seeds of F1 generation obtained from previous research. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive method. The observed variables were the number of survival plants, plants height, harvest age, number of total and productive tillers per clump, weight of harvested dry grain per clump, weight of milled dry grain per clump, and weight of 100 grains of milled dry rice per clump. The research revealed that plant growth and production were varied. Selected plants that were recommended to be used as material for further research consisted of IP.6.11, TI.4.7, TI.4.10, and IT.11.14 which produced black grains and IP.6.3, IP.6.10, and IT.11.19 which also showed high potential in growth and production.
