Abstract

This thesis entitled "The Phenomenon of Angkringan in Palembang City (Study of the Meaning of Angkringan by Students in Palembang City)". The purpose of this study was to determine the students 'motivation to eat in angkringan and to analyze the students' understanding of the existence of angkringan in Palembang City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method, while the number of informants in this study were 6 informants. The data collection technique was done by observing, interviewing and documenting. This study uses the theory of Phenomenology from Alfred Schutz to reveal meaning. The results of the study found that the meaning of angkringan by students in Palembang City (Study of the Meaning of Angkringan by Students in Palembang City) is a place to eat and hang out, a discussion arena, a place for refreshing and looking for a comfortable atmosphere. This is none other than because of an impetus to achieve their goals and objectives. Where the purpose of Palembang City students to come to angkringan, the most important thing is to eat and chat or chat with fellow students.
