Abstract

Learning style is a characteristic of a person to concentrate in capturing and receiving new information stimuli that they use during the learning process. This study aims to determine the types of learning styles of Sriwijaya University Mechanical Engineering students. This research uses descriptive quantitative analysis. Sampling was done using cluster random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The subjects of this study were 136 students of mechanical engineering education FKIP Sriwijaya University from 207 total population. Based on the results of the study showed the percentage of Visual Learning Styles (43%), Auditory Learning Styles (28%) and Kinesthetic Learning Styles (29%). Of the 136 college student, it was found that 58 college student had a tendency to visual learning styles, 38 college student had a tendency towards auditory learning styles, and 40 college student had a tendency towards a kinesthetic learning style.
