Abstract

Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa hubungan kausal antara pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan pengangguran di kota Palembang periode tahun 1994 hingga tahun 2006 dengan menggunakan data sekunder. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif, dimana analisis kuantitatif dengan menggunakan uji kausalitas Granger yang diformulasikan dalam metode regresi sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan, diketahui bahwa hanya terdapat hubungan kausalitas satu arah, yaitu hanya variable pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berpengaruh terhadap pengangguran. Sedangkan variable pengangguran tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi selama periode penelitian. Kata Kunci: Pertumbuhan Ekonomi,Pengangguran, Kausalitas Granger
