Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effect of liquidity and profitability on stock returns with firm value as an intervening variable. The population in this study are banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2018 with a total of 44 companies. The method used was purposive sampling and 13 companies were selected with a total sample of 65 research data. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with SPSS 24 software. The results show that profitability has a significant positive effect on stock returns and firm value. While liquidity has a significant negative effect on firm value, liquidity does not affect stock returns. The research results also show that the company's value does not show stock returns. The influence of firm value is not an intervening variable that affects the effect of profitability and liquidity on stock returns.
