Abstract

This research was aimed at identifying the influence of currency exchange rate on the economic growth in Indonesia in the period of 1987 to 2007. It dealt with secondary data of this period. The simple linear regression method was applied to analyze the data; the Ordinary Leas Square (OLS) was used to estimate the results. The research shows that the currency exchane rate significantly influence the economic growth in Indonesia, It means, the appreciation of rupiah would cause increasing to the economic growth whereas the depreciation of rupiah would cause decreasing to the economic growth in Indonesia.
