Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah kineija perbankan syariah pada periode sebelum fatwa berbeda dibandingkan setelah fatwa. Pada Desember 2003, Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) mengeluarkan fatwa yang mengharamkan bunga. Pada periode setelah adanya fatwa, mdikator utama perbankan syariah menunjukkan pertumbuhan yang sigmtikan. Dengan menggunakan uji wilcoxon, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kinerja perbankan syariah antara sebelum dan sesudah fatwa MUI. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, kinerja perbankan syariah setelah fatwa lebih baik daripada sebelum fatwa Kata kunci: Perbankan Syariah, Fatwa.
