Abstract

This research is entitled “The Influence of Prices of Import and Domestic Sugar, Number of Population and Gross Domestic Products on the Demands of Sugar in South Sumatera in the Period of 1994 - 2009.” This research was aimed at finding out how much influence prices of import and domestic sugar, number of population and gross domestic products play on the demands of sugar in South Sumatera. A quantitative and qualitative analysis was used for this research. The research results show that there was a signigicant influence of prices of domestic sugar and number of population on the demand of sugar in South Sumatra whereas prices of import sugar and gross domestic products did not have any significant influence. The Government is recommended their policy on sugar price the policy may influence a lot of people.
