Abstract

Nowdays, competition in the career requires people who have high career ability. A university must be able to prepare their students to be able to compete in the world of work. Sriwijaya University has a talent and career development center for alumni. on the Career Development Center (CDC) website provide questionnaires for alumni to fill out. The attributes in the questionnaire have relevance about the education level of graduate Students with their career such as the study length, The student academic performance, The English skill, computers, social knowledge when they look for work as their career. Based on data from the CDC in 2013 to 2015 there were 674 alumni of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, but only 140 alumni or graduate students filled out the questionnaire completely. The Iterative Dichitomiser 3 (ID3) algorithm is one method that can be used to predict the suitability of education level with the field of work of the MIPA Faculty graduate student. This study uses the k-fold cross-validation and percentage split method to see the success rate of the ID3 algorithm. the average result of the accuracy obtained was 76.87%. This shows that the ID3 algorithm works well to predict the suitability of the education level with the graduate student field of career.
