Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify how the SBI rate and income per capita influence the Third Party Funds in conventional and Islamic banking in Indonesia. Data used in this research are monthly secondary data from the period March 2003 to December 2009. The data are analyzed by Vector Autoregression Method (VAR.) The research results showed that in the long-term SBI rate did not have any influence on third-party funds at the conventional banking; because of its nature as a short- term instruments. But in the long- term, SBI rates has influenced the third-party funds at the Islamic banking as a benchmark to set margins for the results. While percapita income variable is having real impact in raising the third-party funds both conventional and islamic banking.
