Abstract

One of the important components in the distribution of electric power is the electrical conductor. The ability to conduct electricity to conduct electric power is greatly influenced by the quality of the conductor and its resistance. The resistance of the conducting wire can be influenced by environmental conditions with varying temperatures. Temperature is the level of heat in an object and one of the variables that influence the value of the electrical resistance of an object. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the change in the resistance value of the conducting wire on the NYA cable type with different cross-sectional areas, namely 1.5 mm2 and 2.5 mm2 connected to the heater. The benefit of this research is to provide information about the effect of temperature changes on the value of electrical resistance and the comparison of the resistance value to different cross-sectional areas on the wire conductor. From the results of the research conducted, when testing with the conductor wire on the type of NYA 1.5 mm2 with an initial temperature of 28,2℃ it produces a resistance value of 35.370 Ω and at a maximum temperature of 59.8 produces a resistance value of 39,969 Ω while the NYA cable is 2.5 mm2. with an initial temperature of 28,7℃, the resistance value is 31,936 Ω and at a maximum temperature of 56.5℃ produces a resistance value of 35.565 Ω. The results of this study indicate that the higher the temperature of the material, the greater the resistance value. The higher the temperature in a conductor, the higher the vibration of free electrons in the conductor. And the results of this study also show that at different cross-sectional areas, the larger the cross-sectional area of the conducting wire, the smaller the resulting resistance value. Keywords: Temperature, Resistance, Electric Conduct.
