Abstract

Roads are infrastructure that connects one area to another. Roads are needed to facilitate mobility and accessibility of socio-economic, social activities as well as for the advancement of the area. As the traffic volume increases from year to year, it causes damage to the roads. To improve the quality of the asphalt mixture, reduce used tire waste and stabilize the price of rubber, the asphalt mixture was modified with the addition of crumb rubber and latex SIR 20. This study focuses on comparing and analyzing mixtures of standard asphalt, asphalt with additional crumb rubber and bitumen with the addition of latex SIR 20. The mixing method used is the wet mix method. This study aims to determine the residual strength index of retained strength, in which the calculation parameters compare the stability value of the test object immersion for 30 minutes and immersion for 24 hours, and also to determine the weight loss value of the mixture using a Los Angeles abrasion machine with 300 revolutions at 30 speeds. -33 rpm without steel balls. For the modified crumb rubber asphalt mixture, index of retained strength was obtained with the highest percentage with 93.43% for the AC-WC layer, and 93.903% for the AC-BC layer. As for the weight loss value, the SIR 20 latex modified asphalt mixture obtained the smallest average value among the other mixtures with 3.45% for the AC-WC layer and 5.35% for the AC-BC layer.
