Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the effect of household consumption growth and export to the economic growth of South Sumatera and to know the causality correlation among the three variables. The observed sample was annual datafrom 1986-2010. The data used in this study were secondary data in the form of time series taken from Statistic Indonesia (BPS) of South Sumatera. Based on the data, it was used quantitive study using Vector Auto Regressive (VAR) method. The result of the research showed that there was an effect of household consumption growth. In addition, it was found a one-way correlation between household consumption and economic growth, export growth and growth, and household consumption growth and export. economic
