Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out the influence of exchange rates and Bank Indonesia Certification’s interest rates on the Manufacturing Sector Price Index at the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data used in this study were secondary data, that is, the time-series data in the period of January 2007- December 2011 obtained from various reports and publication by the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Bank of Indonesia. The technique of analysis was a multiple regression by using the Ordinary Least Square method. Manufacturing Sector Stock Price Index was the dependent variable while the exchange rates and the SBI interest rates were the independent variables. The data were processed by using Eviews 6.0. the result of the study showed that: the exchange rates had a negative influence on the Manufacturing Sector Stock Price Index during the years of observation, and the SBI interest rates had a negative influence on the Manufacturing Sector Stock Price Index during the years of observation.
