Abstract

This study was aimed at finding out the influence of the counterbalance funds and the regional income on the Palembang economic growth. Another objective was to discover which variables between these two which mostly influence the Palembang economic growth. The data were the time series secondary data in the period from 1996 to 2010. They were the total of counterbalance funds, the total of regional income, and the gross domestic product of Palembang city. To analyze the data, the Vector Autoregression (VAR) was used. The findings showed that the counterbalance funds had significant and positive influence on the economic growth of Palembang city. However, the regional income did not have significant influence on the economic growth of Palembang city in the short term.
