Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out how concentration and efficiency affect benefit viewed from the percentage of Price Cost Margin (PCM) on printing and writing paper industry in Indonesia. The data used in this research were the secondary ones i.e. the data in the period of 1997 until 2011. This research used descriptive and quantitative method. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the trend or the growth of industry, while quantitative analysis used multiple regression with Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The findings of the research showed that dependent variable was significantly affected by independent variable. From the result of regression, concentration and efficiency on the benefit had the value of R2 0.982395. This showed that the independent variable could describe the dependent variable for 98,23 percent (really significant). Meanwhile, the rest of 1,77 percent was affected by the factors outside of the model.
