Abstract

This thesis entitled "The Role of Youh GBI MPI in Strengthening the Social Concern of the Young Generation of Palembang City" about the role of YOUTH GBI MPI in strengthening social care for the young generation of Palembang City and what are the driving and inhibiting factors in strengthening the social care of the young generation of Palembang city. This study uses qualitative methods, described descriptively by using primary data obtained from direct observation and secondary data from published data collection results. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The research technique used was purposive, the research informants were 11 people. The data validity of this study used source triangulation, technique triangulation and time triangulation. The results of this study indicate the role of YOUTH GBI MPI in strengthening social care for the young generation of Palembang city by always improving the programs they run and always following trends or developments in the younger generation. The form of social care carried out by YOUTH GBI MPI in strengthening social care for the younger generation by inviting their members to set aside their pocket money to buy groceries which are distributed to people around who are less fortunate, as well as making programs (Community Of Love) or community of love for formation character and talent. The obstacles that occur are due to the presence of non-Christian family members who have not fully allowed them to participate in activities.
