Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi konsumsi masyarakat di Sumatera Selatan yang terjadi pada kurun waktu 2000-2012 dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang diambil dari BPS daerah Sumatera Selatan. Setiap orang atau masyarakat mempunyai skala kebutuhan yang dipengaruhi oleh pendapatan. Kondisi pendapatan seseorang akan mempengaruhi tingkat konsumsinya. Semakin tinggi pendapatan, makin banyak jumlah barang yang dikonsumsi. Harga-harga kebutuhan barang yang tinggi akibat inflasi juga akan sangat mempengaruhi konsumsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis regresi linier berganda dengan menggunakan program Software statistic Eviews 6.0. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa konsumsi masyarakat di Sumatera Selatan pada tahun 2000 sampai 2012 secara bersama-sama dipengaruhi oleh variabel pendapatan dan inflasi sebesar 74,48%. Berdasarkan penelitian ini maka penulis memberikan saran agar pemerintah dapat mengupayakan peningkatan pendapatan dan menekan inflasi agar tercapainya kestabilan perekonomian Sumatera Selatan dan Indonesia.
