Abstract
This study was carried out in order to find out the factors determinant to influence the banking finance excess of public banking in South Sumatra in the period of 1991 - 2010. The data used are secondary data from the year 1991 - 2010, obtained from the publications of the Bank of Indonesia. The analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis utilizing ordinary Least Square (OLS). The data were analyzed and verified them by using multiple regression analysis using ordinary least square (OLS). In this study it could be seen that the dependent variable is banking finance excess and the independent one is inflation (INF), banking credit distribution (PKR), and exchange rates (Krs). The data were analyzed and processed by running E-views 6.0 program. The results show that inflation (INF) positively but not significantly determined the banking finance excess in public banking in South Sumatra. On the other hand, the distribution of credit banking (PKR) and exchange rates (Krs) negatively and significantly affect the bankingn finance excess in the public banking in South Sumatra.
